Denwell

Notes from the den

2026-07-28

The bear doesn't say much. He naps, he holds onto things you almost bought, and every so often he mumbles something about dust. That's the whole app, more or less.

This is the part where we say more than he does.

We're starting a journal here — not a changelog, not a press page, just notes on the things Denwell is actually about: the gap between wanting something and buying it, why that gap is worth protecting, and what tends to happen to an urge when nobody rushes it.

Some of what shows up here will be about the idea the den is built on — why "forgetting" is the point instead of the failure mode, why time works better than willpower, why a running total of money saved would ruin the whole thing. Some of it might be about the broader stuff around impulse buying, no-buy challenges, and the small rituals people already use to talk themselves out of a purchase — and what the den does differently.

We're not posting on a schedule, and we're not padding anything out to hit a word count. If there's nothing worth saying, there won't be a new post that week.

The den itself hasn't changed. Hand the bear the thing you almost bought, and check on him whenever you remember to.
